Ingredients

1 pound strawberries, hulled, quartered
1 cup white wine vinegar
½ cup unseasoned rice vinegar
¼ cup sugar

Special equipment:

A sieve lined with cheesecloth or a coffee filter, clean glass jar

Preparation

  1. Combine 1 pound strawberries, hulled, quartered, 1 cup white wine vinegar, ½ cup unseasoned rice vinegar, and ¼ cup sugar in a large glass jar. Cover and chill 1–2 days. Strain through a sieve lined with cheesecloth or a coffee filter into a clean glass jar. Cover and chill.

    Do Ahead: Strawberry vinegar can be made 3 months ahead. Keep chilled.
