Anchovies

Ingredients

Preparation

  1. Not enough

    Step 1

In salads, add the oil from oil-packed anchovies to the salad dressing. It will make the salad taste considerably more anchovy-ful (and also more salty, so be sure to taste before adding any salt).

    Step 2

In hors d’oeuvres, mash up the anchovies with cream cheese.

    Step 3

In sauces (like spaghetti or pizza sauce), add the oil from the can to the sauce (remember about the salt).

  2. Salty

    Step 4

Soak the anchovies in water for about 10 minutes and then pat them dry with paper towels. If you don’t intend to use them right away, store them in a container with enough olive oil to cover them. (No olive oil? All right, some other kind of cooking oil.)
