Spiced Tea with Pimm's

Ingredients

4 tea bags
3 tablespoons sugar
Two 4-inch cinnamon sticks, broken into pieces, plus additional sticks for garnish
2 cloves
Two 3-inch strips of orange zest removed with a vegetable peeler, plus strips of rind removed with a channel knife for garnish
1 cup Pimm's No. 1 Cup

Preparation

  1. In a heat-proof pitcher combine the tea bags with 4 cups boiling water, the sugar, the broken cinnamon sticks, the cloves, and the zest, let the tea steep for 5 minutes, and discard the tea bags. Let the tea cool, chill it for 1 hour, or until it is cold, and stir in the Pimm's. Pour the mixture into tall glasses filled with ice cubes and garnish each drink with an additional cinnamon stick and a strip of orange rind.
